Description

This brood of 8 Tufted Titmice chicks fledged over several days. The first 2 fledged on 05/22, the second 2 fledged the next day, and by 05/24 it looked like the tired parents were going to push the last 4 out of the nest!

Ready To Fledge Tufted Titmouse Chicks

These last 4 Tufted Titmouse chicks were not in a hurry to fledge. Four had already left home in the previous 2 days. These laggers preferred the easy life in the nest, so the parents began teasing them with food offerings but instead of giving it to them, they would retreat to a nearby branch in view.
