We have plenty of annoying squirrels that chew on our plants & other things like that. I want to put up a great-horned owl nesting platform this winter, maybe it will get our squirrels away,we have hawks and screech owls, but great-horned love Squirrels, plus the nesting platform is pretty easy. It’s sad that they eat hawks,But they take away some of backyard critters. Also they eat skunks, birds,& racoons, & snakes, which snakes is good because the eat baby birds, and adult birds. But the birds eat seed, but the hawks eat the birds, but the great-horned owls eat hawks. But I haven’t heard that nothing eats the great-horned owls, but hawks are a good way to prevent squirrels from eating baby birds & adult birds.& nice pictures
Economy Mix Wild Bird Feed from Walmart. It has cracked corn, millet, milo, black oils sunflower seeds, and sometimes a striped sunflower seed or nut. I also buy oven roasted mealworms, suet, safflower, peanuts and peanut butter,
We don’t buy any, we just make suet. The birds love it,especially in the winter, the birds eat it all in a day.(we have log suet feeder,we have 12 holes in it)The log feeder is easy to make to.
Cool backyard! We are getting ready to put our suet feeder up Thanksgiving week. I think we are getting it up a little bit later than usual.Normally we put it up early November.
Make sure to feed birds ALL year, not just in winter. Birds need food ALL year, not just when it’s cold out. Also, year-round feeding lets you see colorful birds up close up all year. Don’t worry. The birds won’t become dependent on you for food, birdseed is only 20% off their diet.
Watch out! Looks like he wants to eat some of your chipping sparrows(cooper’s hawk)!
We have tons of squirrels too that he could get rid of.

I have a feeder right now that I made & I put some food in it & they ate it quickly.
Do you have it up year-round?
