Wow, that’s surprising that a Dark-eyed Junco would roost amid a noisy Purple Martin colony. Have you seen our blog post about Juncos nesting in bird houses? This has only rarely been reported by NestWatchers: https://nestwatch.org/connect/blog/juncos-nest-in-a-birdhouse-part-two/.
Do you have any close-up stills of the bird on the rig?
I’ll try and get a closeup shot of the junco ASAP.it May be closer to this weekend. I have seen the blog posts and that is why I shared my video here.
