Description

There are fire ants on the hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds have not come yet. Should I get an ant moat or is there a cheaper option?

Any ideas on how to get rid of the ants? Will the hummingbirds come if the ants are there? Will they bite the hummers?

You should get an ant moat. We try and fill it up because it evaporates(the water). On top of our hummingbird feeder there is a rain sheild that the ants also don’t go past. Our problem is bees.

Fire ants can bite. Black ants don’t.
