Description

I found this sweet mama flying squirrel protecting her pups in one of my nest boxes that has hosted bluebirds and tree swallows in the past. I was astonished to find a nest, even though I know they’re in the area (hear them and see them eating at my bird feeders at night). I took a few quick pictures and then left her alone.
