Description
Yesterday, a red-bellied woodpecker landed on the nest box and stuck its head inside. This video shows mama’s reaction. She then left the nest and fought with the woodpecker until it left the area.
Very cool video. I like how you can see the shed snakeskin in the nest when she lifts up to ward off the woodpecker.
This nest has tons of snakeskin – on my youtube channel there are lots of videos of them building the nest and adding snakeskin. 🙂 Check under playlists for the full playlist.

Mama has been adding more nesting material the past two days. Mostly feathers. We expect the eggs to start hatching tomorrow!
