Nests in boxes
You have it mounted on an easily accessible post possibly a raccoon, a bear would have done more damage.
It’s probably a squirrel or a raccoon. You may want to replace the bird box totally instead of fixing the present one and move it to a different spot. If the predator knows that a nest was there he will probably return and raidd an active nest.
Woodpecker could of also pecked through that roof
