That’s okay, Micah. Thank you for posting that. Is that a Ruby-Throated Hummingbird? That’s the only kind we get here.

  2. HeartForNature says:

Oh. A Calliope Hummingbird. Did not see the species tag until just now. 🥴

I like logic puzzles, but my fav type is to ID birds, and I hate it when I can’t solve them. Btw you should get a eBird account. Also Im glad the hummers are where you are now! I tried to hand feed one today but no luck. Do you have nest boxes? I have one and im building one right now. We have four,(my brothers made them) two of them have Chickadee nests with babies.

We’re making chickadee nest tubes this year. Not quite finished with them yet, though. 😕 I misplaced some of the parts to finish. 😖
BTW, I hate it when I can’t ID a bird I saw too!
Also, do you have Black-Chinned Hummingbirds where you live? If so, you can make nesting sites for them.

  5. Micah Grove says:

Really! you can make nesting sites for them! Thats awesome, yes rarely we have Black-Cinned hummers.(my spelling is bad sorry lol). Best of luck with finishing the nest tubes.

Thx. I’ll see if I can find the website to send you the link for Black-Chinned Hummingbird artificial nest branches. It was basically just a hanging thin metal pole with a fake leaf umbrella over it. I’ll post it here if I can find the link again.

Also Micah, I found the PVC caps. They were underneath my curtains. I’m almost finished!

I tried to up load a picture of the new Western Blue Bird nestlings on the nest watch page and it hung in the upload process for about ten minutes and I just closed the window. Is there something I should have done to the picture?

  11. Micah Grove says:

    Try to upload it again.
