I wasn’t able to see inside the nest for a couple of visits because the parents were so protective and stayed on the nest, but now I don’t have to check it anymore!

Mourning Dove Chick Finally Fledged!
Wow so cute!
Do you think that the chick looks old enough to fledge? I’ve seen Mourning Dove fledglings before (even held one) and he/she doesn’t look quite old enough to me.
Yeah he/she looks a little young but Im not worried.
The fledgling does look younger ten the ones I’ve seen. even the ones that I saw in a nest looked older.
If it can hop, walk, or fly it will be fine. It looks fully feathered to me so I think it’s old enough.
