Mourning Dove nesting on my back deck on top of trumpet vine arbor
i have not seen the dove leave the nest and also have not seen another dove in my courtyard. My concern…will a mateless dove lay eggs, and if so will she not leave the nest? How she feed and drink?
Mourning doves share incubation roles. It is possible that you are not seeing when the male and female switch roles. It is unlikely that she would lay eggs without having a mate. If she does not have a mate, she would leave the nest find food and water.
