We have recently discovered that a Robin has laid eggs on our back porch frame that is at the bottom of the roof and I’m deciding to try and watch them hatch and gets pics and everything…this is a very rare experience for me and I love nature! ??

A question: we have been monitoring an eastern bluebird nest in our back yard. We believe the female is the same bird that raised 4 chicks earlier this year in this box. In the current attempt, the female laid an egg three days in a row starting 6/4 and then switched into incubation behavior. As of today, 6/29, the eggs have not hatched. The eggs look OK, but this appears to be a failed attempt. Should we clear out the nest or wait for the female to abandon it?
Hi Eric, Even though it seems obvious that the eggs are infertile, you should wait until the female has abandoned the nest. When an adult bird is incubating, it is against federal law to intervene.
