A Maine Focus
We thank the volunteer nest box stewards of Downeast Audubon for their recent bulk upload of 386 nest records from Hancock County, Maine. Coordinated by James Longo, this dataset helps boost the numbers for America’s northeasternmost state. If you live in the area and would like to take part, you can learn more about the bluebird box program here.
New Chapter in Colombia
Due to the continued growth of our NestWatch Chapter in Colombia, it was time for an expansion. The PAU Colombia Chapter is now split into two groups—PAU Colombia and 1900 Nidos. Egor Sánchez remains the coordinator of PAU Colombia and his previous co-coordinator Khalilah Ochoa is spearheading 1900 Nidos. We’re excited to see this growth and the increased data from the area!
New App Update
If you use the NestWatch mobile app, please note that a new app update was released this week. This update fixes a number of bugs and performance issues, especially for users who get poor or no reception in the field. If your device does not automatically install updates, please take a moment to update the app so you can have the best experience. You can check your app’s version number at the bottom of the app menu; the latest update is v.3.3.8.
