BC Nests of 2021
As a Nestwatch contributor I have built several nestboxes for Mountain Bluebirds, Tree Swallows and Kestrels. These are fun and great for monitoring but the wild nests always feel more special when I find them.
Common Loon on her nest.
Every summer a pair of Common Loons nest on the small lake where I live. I find great joy in watching them raise their family from my kayak.
First Trip
Picture take from our canoe, at a cottage in Quebec. This was the loon’s first foray onto the lake. Previously had paddled in a sheltered, reed hidden nest.
