Description
We put a screech owl nesting box up in our backyard last year. Starlings nested in it last year, but this year we got an Eastern screech owl to nest and raise 2 owlets!! This is the baby Eastern screech owl after banding by our local raptor society. We were so excited to be able to hold them. They were just about ready to fledge.

What are the researchers who did the banding hoping to learn about the owls? Do they have a website where we could learn more? (Also, how cool that you got to assist with the banding!)
Robyn I believe they band them just to keep track of them. If they are seen in other areas or if they return to the same area each year possibly.
