New Resource for Educators

NestWatch recently unveiled a new free resource for educators of middle school students (grades 5-8). Thinking Outside The (Nest) Box includes a series of five activities leading youth through the steps of making a nest box for small songbirds, placing it in the appropriate habitat, and monitoring the birdhouse as a citizen scientist. Students get hands-on experience while learning about the life cycles of birds.

Download the digital booklet or request a copy by mail (both options are free). Be sure to share this with the educators in your life. Activities are suitable for in-school and after-school time and are aligned to NGSS and Common Core standards.
