I wish I knew enough to be able to differentiate between sets of parents, but honestly I’m doing well to have correctly identified the species at this point. There are now multiple hatchlings but I’m not sure exactly how many. The nest is inside a bush so it’s hard to get a really good look without being intrusive, but I’m trying!
Thank you for the update! It CAN be really hard to monitor Robins’ nests when they are well concealed in a shrub, especially since the birds are so protective of their territory and their young. Clearly the presence of nestlings indicates that *someone*, (or someone”s”), was diligently incubating the eggs! (BTW, your interesting find was highlighted in the NestWatch eNewsletter, in case you have not seen it.) Again, thanks for sharing.
Geeze … are they all going to fit in that nest when they hatch out? I’m with Paula … Are both sets of parents tending this nest? You definitely need a nest cam on that one! 😉
Update please. Did they all hatch? I have had two sets of Eastern Blue Birds fledge but no Robins this year.
