Species: Northern Mockingbird
Unusual behavior, this Mockingbird removing from a fledgling that has been out of the nest for 3 days! .
Is that the fecal sac? I observed the same thing with adult house coming in to the nestbox to feed the young than came out with a fecal sac.
I agree it seems unusual for a fledgling to have a fecal sac removed by the adult. I thought the point of fecal sacs was to help keep the nest clean. Great photo!
