Description

Found a new nest on the 9th of June. Today the 11th, the nest had 2 eggs! Excited to watch the nest! It had to make multiple parts due to me getting tons of photos. It’s really hot (in the 100s) so I’m curious if the mother will sit on the eggs, or would they get too hot?

Some times birds sit on their eggs to keep them cool. Like Ostriches, it’s so hot there that they keep their eggs from the rays of the sun. Also, the male Ostrich will turn the eggs over to keep them at even to spread the heat out. Maybe she doesn’t sit on them because it’s the perfect temperature.

She isn’t sitting on the eggs because she doesn’t have a full clutch yet and if she sat on them now some babies would be a lot bigger than the others.

Birds flip their eggs so the chick develops properly, if birds did not flip there eggs than the chick would die.
