Description

This is the second nest of a pair of Cardinals that live in my garden this year. This nest is in a potted lemon tree in my courtyard under the eaves and is protected from the weather. Can you identify the white egg?

    I’m not sure, but maybe it’s any of these birds: goldfinch, bluebird, or a sparrow.

    Cowbird probably.

      Cowbird eggs have brown speckles. None of these eggs look like cowbird eggs. Sometimes eggs lack pigment.

        Thank you for your comment. I agree that it’s not cowbird. Their eggs have always looked like these through the years. I like your thought that it may lack pigment.
