He doesn’t look happy about the snow!
The birds here are confused about nesting, we had a White-winged Dove nest (that failed) and a baby Mourning Dove in our yard. White-winged Doves and Mourning Doves aren’t supposed to have eggs this early. We also found 2 Killdeer nests with eggs.
The House Finches always build their nests in March (here in Vermont) and usually by the first week of April the eggs appear. The weather certainly is challenging for all wildlife.
It’s been a very warm winter here. One day in January it got to low 70s. One February day it got to almost 80 Fahrenheit. Our bluebirds have been checking out our birdhouse. so have the chickadees.
We had weather in the 90s here.
