Can you describe it? And what is the 2nd picture looking at? It looks like it’s a bluebird or chickadee. Robins don’t nest in nest boxes. Platforms? Yes. It could be a wren.
The 1st picture is looking through the hole (the birdhouse, when designed did not have any other accessible opening).
The second photo is looking from underneath. I unscrewed the bottom and lifted the top carefully (the nest is empty).
We do not have wrens or bluebirds in the area. Chickadees or warblers are the most possible identification for the size of the hole.
In the future, do not buy a birdhouse that you can’t open. Birdhouses must be cleaned after a bird nests or they can become fil of lice and mites that can kill baby birds.
This is an old birdhouse from a kit for kids a long time ago. I took off the roof today, and will post those pictures of the nest (no eggshells, nest is made of a few twigs and wood shavings). Currently, I am building a properly designed birdhouse for our yard.
After two weeks (the nest is protected 2 weeks after the young fledge) move the box to a shader location. After 2 weeks remove the old nest, too many mites and lice from old nests can kill nestlings.
I can barley see the nest.
Barely

Great! What kind of birdhouse?
What kind of bird.
I don’t think it is for any specific species.
(The Home Depot’s logo is on it, so that is likely where it came from.)
I meant the old one isn’t for any specific species (1 1/4″)
The new one is for chickadees and nuthatches from NestWatch which I made to be 1 1/4″.

Our baby wren died today. Most likely the heat. What should we do?

It’s a gas tank. I can’t.
The nest is in the gas tank.
