Bird Bath born in bird bath

I bought an old bird to the side of my house to clean it up but before I could get to it, this bird had built a nest and laid 3 eggs in it and about 2 weeks later she laid one more.Well only 2 of the eggs have hatched, will the other 2 hatch or not?

Baby Carolina Wrens – 4 days later

This nest in in a potted sage plant on a shelf on our first floor apartment patio. I count four beaks in this photo, but there were six eggs originally and no evidence of death or any unhatched eggs, so we believe there are six young in there just piled on top of each other (as they do). This photo was taken with my cell phone on 5/19/15. Babies are awake but still very quiet. The one looking at me in the picture had his mouth open until he realized I wasn’t going to give him any food. Mama and Papa are excellent hunters and are frequently seen returning to the nest with large bugs for their babies.

Baby Carolina Wrens

This nest is in a potted sage plant on our first floor apartment patio. These babies haven’t made a peep yet. There were six eggs, but I can only count five sets of wings in this picture. However, there may be one more little guy in the back, it’s just difficult to see in there.

Front Door Cottage Birdhouse

After she raised her brood she had at the Back door birdhouse, she was looking at the next place that Pa Pa Carolina Wren started the nest. She liked what she saw since there’s a birdbath 8 feet away and several feeders hanging nearby with meal worms. The next picture is her hanging out to get some air while nesting on her 5 eggs.

Carolina Wren at back door birdhouse.

This is a picture of the birdhouse located at my back door. I have had 4 broods that have hatched at this house and usually in Feb/Mar time frame. This picture goes with my first logged nest watch. The babies stayed for about 2 month at the feeders close to the house. Now they hang out in the trees in the back yard.

Wren in my hose reel

This is one of a pair of wrens that made their nest in my hose reel. The reel is only about three feet off the ground and next to the slider to the backyard. I have greyhounds (all retired racers) who never once disturbed the nest.
