Two tree swallows have been observed entering and exiting the nest box.

Barn Swallows have returned for 3rd year over front door of suburban home. in 2014, four survived and fledged,2015 saw 5 of these beautiful birds take to wing.
I have seen many Red-winged Blackbirds in my backyard; however, none that looked like this. To my knowledge, this is possibly a young (first year) male Red-winged Blackbird…or at least that is my best guess. I invite you to let me know if I am right or wrong. If I am wrong, kindly identity this beautiful bird for me.
I was staying at a campground in Hershey PA in October 2015 and happened to see this magnificent bird. I had never seen one before and was so glad to have had my camera for this random photo opportunity.
I like to sit an watch the birds at the back yard feeder. However, occasionally we are visited by this hawk looking for an easy meal which is usually one of the overly plump morning doves that show up for the same reason.
Black-capped Chickadee nest box observational photos. It was a pleasure to watch these little darlings grow. It was even more exciting to see them frequent the feeder once they were on their own.
The retention pond across the street was dredged last summer, so the red winged blackbirds moved into our (very small!) pond.
I watched in awe as all five of the Eastern Bluebird babies fledged! The box was at the end of my yard and I had my camera focused on it all the time. I was able to get many photos of the progress of the family. I now find myself glancing out the window — and they are no longer there. I feel good that there are five young bluebirds in my neighborhood and hope they will return to the box at my house another year!
We came home after being gone a few days to find things on the porch..looked up and there was this nest. It was completed by the next day, and the 3rd day before we saw her perched. I’ll try to use a long ‘selfie stick’ to look in. Anoth incomplete next is on another column.
Day 5 after hatching and they are growing fast, looking healthy, and as you see…always hungry!
At my mothers’s menagerie
Lovely Eastern Bluebird building a nest.
An Eastern Bluebird pair arrived on March 2, 2016. The selected our Gilbertson Nest Box and laid 5 eggs starting on April 2. The babies fledged on May 23. What a thrilling experience!
All three Northern Mockingbird eggs hatched today.
I built this box for my nieces daughter Hannah, since i already have three Bluebird boxes i didnt intend for them to use this one. This is the third year and the fifth brood to raise in this box.
Three Northern Mockingbird nestlings that had hatched within the previous 5 hours wait to be fed.
This brood of 8 Tufted Titmice chicks fledged over several days. The first 2 fledged on 05/22, the second 2 fledged the next day, and by 05/24 it looked like the tired parents were going to push the last 4 out of the nest!
3 eggs and counting
I found this nest in a Mulberry tree that I was trimming limbs. There were some branches that were perfect for setting my camera up with a remote control. I watched from a distance and took random shots as well as ones when parents approached.
A few days ago I submitted pics of owlets. This pic was taken by “nest cam” today around 2pm.
Eastern Bluebirds hatching out. Just one more egg to go!
As a teen birdwatcher, I had never seen House Wren eggs, and never knew they were so tiny!

Eight Tufted Titmouse chicks were hatched on Mother’s Day.
I was doing my nest check today because I’m expecting them (5 eggs) to hatch any day now, discovered the female was determined to stay focused on the business at hand, and not not leave the nest when I opened it up. I was able to take two quick photos with differing light.
Almost stepped on it while looking for nest:) Three harchlings and one still to hatch on our school grounds.
This Song Sparrow nest was built about 1.3′ off the ground in a recess within a large Yucca plant.
The bird nest box was cleaned after sparrows were chased out by a cat. The eastern bluebirds returned and are attempting to block the sparrows return
First time chickadees nesting in my garden nest box for chickadees.
Nest check . Cell phone picture with a quick check to see how many eggs. Sunshine on this egg made it glow.
This nest was along a trail in an aspen-lodgepole forest about a foot from ground level. The three nestlings survived coyotes, foxes and dogs to fledge.
I have had a Barn Owl Nesting Box on the edge of my property for about 3 years….but no Barn Owls. Given the apparent lack of interest, I was about to relocate the box, when I was very pleasantly surprised to find a Western Screech Owl had taken up residency! I had no idea if it was nesting or just roosting, until I noticed (on a discreet wireless cam which is the source of all pics) several eggs, then one owlet, then two – – so far! The first two owlets hatched last week. Still hoping to see more…and looking forward to watching them develop.
She is gaurding her eggs.
Of a nest
They were busy last week adding bark and materials in the nesting box. The male has spent an excessive (bordering on compulsive) amount of time scent masking the box and tree.
I was lucky to watch this Loggerhead shrike feeding its chicks!
I raise bantam chickens, and think they caught this hawks eye. It a BIG bird.
An egg a day for the past seven days in our bird house!

This Eastern Bluebird was just a few hours old when we check the nest.
I check my nest every 4 to 5 days. I am hosting a Tree Swallow and these are the 5 eggs. Daddy Bird likes to watch the nest during the day and Mama Bird comes and goes.
American Robin Nest, Nest with five eggs, and hatchlings.
5 bluebirds in my nest box. I offer mealworms to the parents and they gladly accept them for their young. This is the first clutch I’ve had because I just moved here last fall. Parents and babies are very healthy and the nest box is close to my backyard patio so I can monitor them. I suspect they will fledge in the next few days. (not sure why the photo copied upside down).
2 weeks ago this nest appeared complete and had cowbird eggs in it. Last week the Phoebe built a new nest “liner” on top of the old one, burying the cowbird eggs. Today only phoebe eggs. Clever bird
They are growing so fast, mom & dad remained in the area.
I am hooked!! Love watching the pair from their first brood (five beautiful blue eggs) in the box to seeing the fledgling, five left but only three are around feeding at our feeder. The same pair are nesting again with FIVE more eggs as of Friday the 13th.
Barn swallow nest on front porch column
Baby Robins newly hatched in flowerpot nest.
A mother robin made her nest in a flower pot hanging on the wall above my deck. I was able to get a photo looking down into the nest. There appears to be 3 baby robins who are just starting to get feathers
Alpaca Fur used to line nest.
I place a twig grapevine ball out each spring and stuff it with fur I purchase from a local breeder. Titmice and Chickadees especially love the fur!
8 eggs in what I believe is a Starlig nest in our grill on our deck. 2 eggs were laid on May 11th.

One baby just hatched (the one with its mouth open). Waiting on the remaining 3 to hatch!

Mourning Doves made a nest right outside front door on the porch and had 2 babies!
Its hard to get a decent photograph of the inside of a cavity nest, especially when its above my head level!
